Ecuador

Ecuador is one of the smaller countries in South America, bordered by Columbia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and by the Pacific Ocean to the west. The country also includes the Galapagos Islands 600 miles away in the Pacific.

Due to the Andes Mountains, the country is divided into three regions with great variety in climate. It is mild year-round and relatively dry in the mountain valleys; Humid Subtropical climate incoastal and Rain Forests in the Amazon basin lowlands.

Because of its location at the equator, Ecuador experiences little variation in daylight hours during the course of a year.

The climate diversity and specific location of the country makes it an ideal place for export-oriented floral industry.
